This collage was made from cut strips of paper. The sky is what I call a quilt-like pattern created with alternating rectangles. The water was made in a two step process. First strips of colored paper were glued onto the canvas. Then another layer of paper strips were applied to create the image of glistening water. The top layer was positioned so that a little bit of the color would peek through the image. Like the moon itself, it went through many different shapes and versions before I settled on the final moon.
