The original collage of the Old Salem pedestrian bridge was constructed by cutting and gluing pieces of paper from old books and magazines. If you look closely,  you can see the spines of several books, furniture pieces and even feathers. The green color representing bushes and trees in the center of the bridge is actually an image of green salad. Once the collage was complete, the Moravian stars were digitally placed in the center of the print for that perfect glow.
