This collage print takes me back to my childhood. On an early evening in the summer, I would run around my front yard and try to catch lightening bugs and put them in a jar. Having heard that the populations of fireflies or lightening bugs are dwindling, I thought it was important to draw attention to these amazing creatures by creating a lightning bug collage. The most important part of this collage was to find paper that represented a bright glow. It took a while but I found a magazine image of up-close fairy lights and tore bits of the paper to bring a great glow to the jar. Some of the ‘bugs’ sort of look like fairies.
